My Beloved Oklahoma!

If there is one quote that explains me it is, "I wasn't born in Oklahoma but I got there as fast as I could!"
I was born in Utah but at about a year old my parents moved us to Norman, Oklahoma. For awhile I only wanted to get out of Oklahoma. I wanted to move to Wyoming or Tennessee or anywhere but the Sooner State. I have since learned that I love Oklahoma and wouldn't mind if I stayed there for the entirety of my life!

As I have been here in Maryland, I have missed a few things about Oklahoma....

     1. Cows! - as weird as it seems I absolutely miss seeing cows everyday. I didn't realize how many cows actually live in Oklahoma and just how comforting it is for me to seem them.

     2. Country Music - I am still listening to Tim McGraw and George Strait while I am out here but the people I am with don't always appreciate my music choices.

     3. Rodeos - I haven't been to a rodeo in over a year and I miss them so much! I miss the dirt, the smell of animals, the bull riding, and everything else that comes with going to a rodeo!

     4. White Gravy - I cannot explain to you how much I miss white/cream/country gravy. I usually eat chicken, fries, biscuits, mashed potatoes, and just about everything else with country gravy but they only serve brown gravy over here.

     5. Football - obviously there is football everywhere but I definitely feel like Oklahomans make a very big deal about their football. I miss hearing about two-a-days and counting down the weekends until football season is here!  (P.S. When Bob Stoops retired no one even knew who he was!)

I have had a great time here in Maryland and I am so grateful for this opportunity but Oklahoma will always be home and I will always miss it when I am gone. I am half way done with this internship and in five short weeks I will be back on red dirt where I belong!

Vitamin D

Hi friends! I have already spent a week in Maryland and it is going by so fast! My new friends are amazing and everyday I look forward to hanging out with them in the evenings. My research is coming along but it is taking time and I am trying my best to be positive about what the results might be. Campus is pretty and although I still get lost I like it a lot.      This Saturday we went canoeing in the morning, played basketball in the afternoon, and went for a run with some of my gal pals in the evening. I love spending time in the sun and enjoyed my Saturday so much! Canoeing was a little scary, but for my first time I think I did pretty good! My arms are extremely sore but it is a good sore. I am learning so much and loving every new experience! I have played pool, softball, and basketball which are all things that I do not do very often but have had a good time doing!     This Sunday I got to go to church in Salisbury. It was nice to d...
