Twenty - Eighteen

Happy New Year!!!

Goals and I have had an interesting past. Every year I seem to make more goals than I can even keep track of and by February I am overwhelmed and discouraged. I can't even remember if I made any goals for 2017 and if I did, I certainly didn't keep them. This year, I decided that I wanted to try again with New Year resolutions, but I wanted to be smart and realistic about the goals I made. With this new mindset, I decided that I wanted to make three goals that hopefully will not overwhelm me, but rather encourage me to be a better version of myself for 2018!!

My first goal is my spiritual goal for the year and that is scripture study. I haven't promised myself that I am going to read the  Book of Mormon five times or that I am going to get through the entire Bible, instead, I have decided that I just need more scripture study in my life. I need to be more diligent in reading the Book of Mormon every day and I need to study the words of modern prophets as well. I have decided to leave this goal with an open end so that I can enjoy my own scripture study journey this year and (hopefully) look back fondly on that journey twelve months from now!!

My second goal is my practical goal. This year I want to work hard on time management. I am taking a full load of classes this semester, I have a job where I work 20-25 hours a week, and I have a calling at church that requires some of my time, not to mention the time that I need to allow myself to have fun and relax. With all of these time commitments, my schedule (like many of yours) is a mess and could use some tender loving care!! This year I want to use my time wisely and just be aware of my obligations, needs, and limits. I have ordered a new planner and hope that I can organize my life just a little bit more effectively this year!!

My final goal is this...my blog!! I have rarely been good at keeping a journal, but when I worked on my blog last summer I had such a good time!! I posted a few times a week and actually enjoyed writing and now I have a ton of memories that I can look back on and remember! This year, I want to continue this blog and continue to document my life so that I can look back on these posts and remember the good times and the bad times that I enjoy!!

I am so excited for 2018!! I am going to do my best to be positive and excited about the place in life I am at!! While I enjoy each season of my life, I will work my hardest to read my scriptures more, use my time wiser, and blog as often as possible!!

I encourage you all to make realistic goals and to do your best in 2018 to achieve them!!

Good luck!!

-Kate

Vitamin D

Hi friends! I have already spent a week in Maryland and it is going by so fast! My new friends are amazing and everyday I look forward to hanging out with them in the evenings. My research is coming along but it is taking time and I am trying my best to be positive about what the results might be. Campus is pretty and although I still get lost I like it a lot.      This Saturday we went canoeing in the morning, played basketball in the afternoon, and went for a run with some of my gal pals in the evening. I love spending time in the sun and enjoyed my Saturday so much! Canoeing was a little scary, but for my first time I think I did pretty good! My arms are extremely sore but it is a good sore. I am learning so much and loving every new experience! I have played pool, softball, and basketball which are all things that I do not do very often but have had a good time doing!     This Sunday I got to go to church in Salisbury. It was nice to d...
